Popular Malayalam actor Bala was arrested on Monday, October 14, by the Kadavanthra police following a complaint from his ex-wife. Along with Bala, his manager Rajesh and another individual named Ananthakrishnan were also taken into custody. The actor faces serious charges, including sections related to insulting womanhood and the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act, which have been filed under non-bailable offenses.

The controversy erupted when Bala’s ex-wife, Amrita Suresh, filed a complaint against the actor for mental and physical abuse. Reports suggest that their daughter Avantika had earlier posted a video, accusing Bala of torturing her both mentally and physically. These allegations have brought the actor under public scrutiny, leading to the swift action by the authorities.
Bala’s Emotional Response on Social Media
In response to the allegations, Bala appeared in an emotional Facebook Live video where he expressed his heartbreak over his daughter’s accusations. He denied ever causing her harm and stated, “It was the most painful experience of my life, but I will not argue with you.” Bala conveyed his sorrow but chose not to engage in an argument with his daughter, saying a father should not argue with his child.

The issues between Bala and Amrita have been circulating for months, with Amrita previously revealing details of domestic abuse she faced during their marriage. She stated that the trauma from the abuse had long-term effects, leading her to seek continuous treatment for internal injuries.
