Fans of Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn are excited for the upcoming release of Rohit Shetty’s action-packed film, ‘Singham Again’, set to hit theaters on November 1st. The Film That Akshay Lost to Ajay
Back in 1991, Akshay Kumar was all set to make his Bollywood debut with ‘Phool Aur Kaante’, a film that eventually went on to launch Ajay Devgn’s career. According to reports, Akshay had already been signed for the film, and preparations for the shoot were underway. However, just before filming began, Akshay received a call informing him that he was no longer part of the project.
Ajay Devgn was brought in to replace Akshay, and the film turned out to be a super hit at the box office. Ajay’s iconic entry, balancing on two bikes, became a symbol of his macho image, and the film’s success made him an overnight star. Meanwhile, Akshay went on to make his debut the same year with ‘Saugandh’, though it didn’t have the same impact.
Akshay’s Light-Hearted Take on the Incident
Fast forward to 2021, during the trailer launch of ‘Sooryavanshi’, Akshay Kumar humorously recalled this moment from their early careers. Referring to the 1991 incident, he joked with Ajay, saying, “We both started together. We fought for the same movie. ‘Phool Aur Kaante’ was originally mine, but Ajay pushed me aside and took it.”
This light-hearted exchange showed there were no hard feelings, and both actors have since built stellar careers in Bollywood, becoming two of the biggest stars in the industry.
Reuniting in ‘Singham Again’
Now, decades later, fans are eagerly awaiting to see Akshay and Ajay together on the big screen in ‘Singham Again’. While Ajay leads the film as Singham, Akshay will be seen in an extended cameo, reprising his role from ‘Sooryavanshi’. The film, directed by Rohit Shetty, promises to be a star-studded affair with appearances by Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Tiger Shroff.
