Ajay Devgn’s much-anticipated film Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty and featuring an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and Akshay Kumar, has undergone significant changes as per the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) guidelines. The board has requested extensive cuts due to scenes deemed controversial, especially those involving Ravana and Sita.

17 Edits, Scene Removals, and a New Disclaimer Ordered

Reports reveal that the CBFC has implemented a total of 17 edits, including the removal and alteration of specific scenes in Singham Again. In one instance, a 16-second segment, which allegedly shows Ravana pushing Sita, was removed. Another 29-second clip, showing scenes with Hanuman and characters in a humorous setting, was also cut.

To comply with CBFC requirements, a major disclaimer will now appear at the beginning of the film. The disclaimer will clarify that the story, though inspired by Lord Ram’s legend, is entirely fictional and that its characters should not be associated with revered deities. This added statement aims to prevent potential misinterpretations regarding the portrayal of mythological figures.

Fans Express Outrage on Social Media Over Censor Cuts

Fans of Singham Again have reacted strongly to these cuts on social media, with many criticizing the CBFC’s decision. Some users compared this move to the handling of the Adipurush controversy, questioning the need for such alterations. While the cuts were intended to avoid potential backlash, many fans feel that altering a fictional work based on historical inspiration can impact artistic freedom.

#CBFC has cut down almost half of the #Ramayana references and even background chants from #SinghamAgain 😭😂

They are doing it deliberately…. I just wish that they should get the payback very soon, this type of politics should not be tolerated at all.
First #TSeries & Second #CBFC , They let all those softporn movies release on #OTT platforms. There they gives green signal easily. https://t.co/8BRu41XmbL

I can imagine why #CBFC removed #Simmba's flirting scene.

Lord #Hanuman was a sort of #Brahmachari, so that scene might have hurt many people's feelings. Also, he wasn't this wild as #RanveerSingh has portrayed it (from the trailer).

Adjusted Runtime and Diwali Release Date Confirmed

Following the edits, Singham Again is set to have a runtime of 2 hours and 30 minutes. The movie is slated for a Diwali release on November 1, marking a festive return for Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe with Ajay Devgn reprising his iconic role. This film will also include cameos from Bollywood stars like Salman Khan and Arjun Kapoor, promising a star-studded experience despite the adjustments enforced by the censor board.
