Horror-comedy fans have something new to cheer for with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the latest part in the franchise. Directed by Anees Bazmee, who’s well-known for adapting his style to suit contemporary trends, this new chapter continues with the laughs and scares that audiences have loved, with a fresh storyline that digs into events from 200 years ago.

In Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Kartik Aryan reprises his role as Rooh Baba, but this time with even more complications. Alongside him, the movie features a talented ensemble cast, with Vidya Balan making a powerful return, and Madhuri Dixit gracing the film in a memorable cameo.

Plot: A Royal Family, a Cursed Mansion, and the Return of Manjulika

This third part of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa series unearths events linked to a cursed mansion and a powerful spirit known as Manjulika. Meera (played by Trupti Dimri), who belongs to the royal family of Raktghat, seeks out Rooh Baba for help in freeing her family from the curse of Manjulika.

Rooh Baba, though known for his fraudulent ghost-hunting ways, bears a resemblance to Manjulika’s brother, a royal prince from the past. Meera and her uncle exploit this fact and bring him to Raktghat, where they believe he can finally rid the family of the terrifying spirit. But there’s a twist: the spirit of Manjulika has a hidden history, adding layers to her backstory and her connection with the family.

A Mix of Fear and Fun

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 stands out for its pacing, especially in the second half. The first part of the film takes time to build up the storyline, which might seem a bit slow to some viewers. However, after the intermission, the film truly hits its stride, balancing humor and horror with surprising twists and well-crafted scare sequences. Bazmee has infused the film with a modern style of horror-comedy while keeping the spirit of the previous films intact.

One of the highlights is the climax, where a shocking revelation about Manjulika’s identity and the history of the mansion brings the film to an unexpected and emotional close. It’s a mix of comic relief, spooky moments, and a storyline that appeals to family audiences, making it a well-rounded addition to the franchise.

Technical Excellence: Strong VFX, Beautiful Sets, and Iconic Music

Technically, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is a treat for fans of horror-comedy. The set design deserves appreciation for its eerie yet grand look, giving the mansion a mysterious vibe that adds to the horror element. The VFX work also shines, especially in scenes with Manjulika, amplifying the fear factor.

The soundtrack, while generally enjoyable, is slightly inconsistent in the way songs are integrated into the story. However, fans will appreciate the title track, which pays homage to the original film. A standout moment is the dance sequence to “Aami Je Tomar,” featuring Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan, which has quickly become a favorite for fans of the franchise.

Cast Performance: Kartik Aryan, Vidya Balan, and Madhuri Dixit Impress in Key Roles

Kartik Aryan brings energy and humor to his character, Rooh Baba, with his comedic timing on point. His character has grown since the previous film, and his screen presence here proves he’s well-suited to both horror and comedy. Vidya Balan’s return as Manjulika feels fresh and impactful; she adds gravitas to her scenes, leaving an impression that complements the story’s darker elements.

Madhuri Dixit, appearing as a royal figure, adds depth to her cameo role and stands out as an intriguing character with a gray side. Her dance performance adds a special touch, blending tradition with modern storytelling.

Supporting roles add significantly to the comedy. Rajpal Yadav, as the ever-entertaining “Chhota Pandit,” keeps the laughs coming, while Ashwini Kalsekar and Sanjay Mishra add a quirky charm to their roles. Together, these characters provide comic relief, balanced well with the film’s horror elements. Vijay Raaz’s portrayal of Meera’s father also adds to the story with his natural comedic talent, providing some lighter moments amidst the drama.

Why Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is Worth Watching

For those who love the horror-comedy genre, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 delivers the right mix of laughs, thrills, and suspense. The storyline is packed with twists and emotional moments, balancing a haunted mansion’s chilling history with fun, family-friendly humor. With a strong second half, memorable performances, and a unique storyline that goes deeper into the past, the film has something for everyone.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 offers a refreshing take on horror-comedy while maintaining the nostalgic elements fans of the original loved. With entertaining performances, eerie settings, and a surprising climax, it’s an ideal pick for a fun night out with family and friends.
