The Bandra Police recently questioned Faizan Khan, a lawyer from Raipur, in connection with a reported threat against Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan. The incident came to light after the Bandra Police received a complaint about a threatening phone call made to Shahrukh Khan, traced back to a phone registered in Faizan’s name. However, Faizan claims he was not responsible for the call but admits to being upset over a controversial line related to blackbucks in the actor’s 1994 movie Anjaam.
Why Was Faizan Angry?
According to Faizan, his frustration stems from a dialogue in Anjaam that he found offensive toward animals and culturally sensitive communities. In this particular dialogue, the film reportedly mentions killing and cooking a blackbuck, an animal revered by the Bishnoi community. Given his connections to the Bishnoi community and his commitment to animal welfare, Faizan has previously filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police Commissioner requesting the removal of this scene.
The Bishnoi community, known for its staunch stance on wildlife conservation, has historically been active in protecting blackbucks. Faizan, who expressed his anger over the dialogue, claimed he had never made any threats to Shahrukh Khan and was merely advocating against the scene’s cultural insensitivity. He emphasized his loyalty to the Bishnoi community’s cause and mentioned receiving their support on this issue.
The Threat Investigation: Key Details
The incident of Shahrukh Khan receiving a threat call on November 5 has raised concerns in Bollywood, especially after the recent threats against actor Salman Khan. As a result, Mumbai Police heightened security around both actors. With Shahrukh Khan’s case, the Bandra Police tracked the phone used for the call to Raipur and connected it to Faizan Khan. To clarify the situation, the police traveled to Raipur, where they conducted a two-hour interrogation of Faizan.
During questioning, Faizan claimed his phone had been stolen on November 2, several days before the alleged threat was made. He reported the theft to the Khamardih Police Station in Raipur, providing proof of the complaint. Despite Faizan’s statement denying involvement, the Bandra Police issued him a notice and have requested him to report back on November 14 for further questioning.

When approached by the media, Faizan shared his stance, asserting that his protest against Shahrukh Khan’s film had nothing to do with making threats. He clarified that his issue was strictly with the insensitive portrayal of blackbucks in Anjaam, adding that he felt compelled to address the matter as it could harm the reputation of the Bishnoi community, who consider the blackbuck sacred.
Faizan, who has spent time in Mumbai previously, explained that he had even filed a petition to ban Anjaam due to its portrayal of blackbucks. He stated that his actions were in line with his respect for the Bishnoi community’s values, and that his complaint against the movie aimed to raise awareness of animal rights.

While the investigation continues, the Bandra Police will look into Faizan’s claims regarding his stolen phone and verify the details of his complaint. Authorities are investigating if there could be any connection between Faizan’s phone theft and the subsequent threat. For now, Faizan has been allowed to return home but will need to report back to the Mumbai police on November 14 as they continue their investigation.
