The Indian television industry often introduces leaps to refresh a show’s storyline and keep viewers engaged. However, many shows that initially performed well have lost their charm after such leaps, with changes in cast and plot failing to connect with audiences. Now, ‘Anupamaa’, one of the most popular shows on Indian television, is preparing for a major 15-year leap, raising questions about whether it can maintain its top spot on the TRP charts.

Several previous hits stumbled after taking a similar leap. Fans wonder if ‘Anupamaa’ will follow the same path or continue its reign as one of the leading shows on TV.

Big TV Shows That Lost Their TRP Post-Leap

    1. Imli
‘Imli’ was a top-rated show on Star Plus in its initial phase. However, after the leap and a complete cast overhaul, its popularity plummeted. With declining ratings, the makers eventually decided to pull the show off-air.
    2. Kumkum Bhagya
Once a fan-favorite show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ failed to keep audiences engaged after the leap. With the exit of Pragya and Abir, viewers lost interest, and the show dropped to the bottom of the TRP rankings.
    3. Pandya Store
‘Pandya Store’ also struggled post-leap, with twists in the storyline failing to impress loyal fans. The drastic change led to a sharp drop in ratings, pushing the show to near cancellation.
    4. Meet
The serial ‘Meet’ enjoyed a strong following in its first season, but the leap proved costly. Viewers couldn’t connect with the new track, forcing the makers to wrap up the show.
    5. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai
Even the long-running hit ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ couldn’t maintain its TRP after a leap. It slipped out of the top 10, with rumors swirling about its possible closure.

Can ‘Anupamaa’ Stay Strong After the Third Leap?

‘Anupamaa’ has taken two leaps so far and managed to stay at the top of the TRP game. However, with the upcoming 15-year leap, the storyline will change significantly, and several beloved actors are exiting the show. This has left viewers concerned about whether the magic of Rupali Ganguly’s character will continue to captivate audiences.
