Surabhi and Samriddhi Mehra, better known as Chinki-Minki, have officially announced that they will no longer work together as a professional duo. The famous twin sisters, who rose to fame with their comic timing and chemistry on The Kapil Sharma Show, shared the emotional update with fans on social media.
The sisters posted a heartfelt note on Instagram expressing their decision to part ways professionally while continuing their bond. Known for their identical looks, matching outfits, and energetic performances, the sisters have been among the most loved twin duos on Indian television and social media.
Emotional Note Shared on Instagram
In their post, Surabhi and Samriddhi wrote, “With a heavy heart, we are now separating our way as a pair. We have decided to find our life paths on personal journeys from here.”
In the caption, they asked for continued support from their fans, adding, “We are grateful for everything we have shared and are excited for what is next. Keep encouraging both of us with your love and blessings.”
Bond That Goes Beyond Work
In an earlier conversation with Free Press Journal, the sisters had opened up about their close connection. They spoke about their “twin telepathy” and said that they often understood what the other was thinking without speaking.
“We can’t trust anyone the way we trust each other. As we grow older, our bond is only getting stronger,” they had shared.
However, despite this strong personal bond, the industry’s demands and challenges have pushed them to make individual career decisions.
Facing Challenges as Twins in the Industry
Surabhi had earlier highlighted the kind of problems they face as twins during auditions. She shared that casting teams often struggle to choose between the two.
“We give a lot of auditions together and people sometimes say, ‘We have to choose one of you.’ But when they can’t decide, they end up selecting someone else,” she had said.
Such experiences made it clear that being a twin in the industry can be both a strength and a challenge.
Fans Send Love Despite the Surprise
The sudden announcement left fans heartbroken, but the response on social media has been filled with support and good wishes. Many fans wrote emotional comments, calling the sisters an inspiration and expressing hope that their solo careers will shine as brightly as their time together.
Some users even trended their names online to express their love and memories connected with their performances over the years.
