Actress Dalljiet Kaur, who recently separated from her second husband, Nikhil Patel, has made shocking allegations against her ex-husband, actor Shalin Bhanot. In a candid interview with Galatta India, Dalljiet accused Shalin of being an irresponsible father, stating that he hasn’t been in touch with their son, Jaden, for more than a year.
Shalin Bhanot’s Absence from His Son’s Life
Dalljiet revealed that Shalin had not contacted their son Jaden for over a year, despite having ample opportunities. She shared, “More than a year has passed, and there’s been no effort from his side to stay connected. I always tried to maintain a good relationship for the sake of our son, and whenever he wanted to meet Jaden, I never refused. But there’s been no communication.”
Dalljiet also expressed her disappointment, saying that Shalin didn’t even attempt to check on their well-being, especially when they were going through tough times while she was living in Kenya with her second husband. “It bothers me that he never tried to find out what was happening with me or Jaden in Kenya. He had my number, but he never made the effort,” she added.
Shalin’s Sudden Disappearance
During the interview, Dalljiet was asked if Shalin ever showed any interest in meeting their son. She responded, “Whenever he had to meet Jaden, he would contact him directly. But beyond that, he didn’t show any concern. I even suggested to Nikhil that Shalin could come and stay with us in Kenya for Jaden’s sake, and Shalin agreed. But then, he suddenly disappeared without any explanation.”
Ongoing Personal Struggles
While dealing with the emotional stress of Shalin’s absence, Dalljiet has also been facing issues in her second marriage. She married Kenya-based businessman Nikhil Patel in 2023, but the relationship has been rocky. Dalljiet accused Nikhil of having an affair after their marriage, and the two are currently involved in a legal battle. Nikhil even sent her a notice to collect her belongings from their home in Kenya. However, Dalljiet secured a stay order, preventing him from removing her or Jaden’s belongings from the house.
Dalljiet’s personal life has been full of ups and downs, but she continues to focus on her son’s well-being amid these challenges.
