Kaun Banega Crorepati season 16 is seeing intense competition with contestants striving to win big. After the show crowned its first crorepati, Chander Prakash, Haryana government official Abhishek Sandhu aimed to become the next. However, his journey ended at the Rs 50 lakh question, even after using the audience poll lifeline.

Abhishek’s Journey to the Hot Seat

Abhishek Sandhu, an employment officer from Haryana, took the hot seat in the latest episode. He started confidently, answering the initial questions correctly and climbing up the prize ladder. He shared stories of his hard work and dedication to getting his job, even avoiding family weddings to focus on his studies.

    Answering Early Questions Smoothly

Abhishek’s knowledge and sharp mind helped him answer several questions, including the one worth Rs 1,60,000. Host Amitabh Bachchan asked him, “Who was featured as ‘Sancha’ on the cover of Time magazine in March 1930?” Abhishek chose the audience poll for assistance and correctly answered Mahatma Gandhi.

Lifeline Used for Rs 12.5 Lakh Question

Moving ahead, Abhishek confidently answered a Rs 3,20,000 question about KP Sharma Oli taking oath as the Prime Minister of Nepal in July 2024. He reached the Rs 12.5 lakh mark, where he used his phone-a-friend lifeline to seek help, and successfully advanced to the next level.

Stumped at Rs 50 Lakh Question Despite Audience Poll

The real challenge came with the Rs 50 lakh question: Who was the first batsman to score a double century in first-class cricket? Abhishek decided to rely on the audience poll once again. However, the audience’s answer left him uncertain. Unable to take the risk, he chose to quit the game.

As he exited, host Amitabh Bachchan revealed the correct answer—Tom Marsden, a name that stumped not only Abhishek but also many viewers.

Despite not winning Rs 50 lakh, Abhishek Sandhu walked away with a respectable sum and the pride of having made it far in the iconic quiz show.
