In most cases, films are sold to OTT platforms before their theatrical release. But, in a surprising turn of events, The Lady Killer was not sold to any streaming service. Instead, it was uploaded for free on the YouTube channel of T-Series on September 2, 2024.
This decision led to a lot of trolling. Viewers took to social media to mock Arjun Kapoor and the filmmakers. Some people commented that even if the movie was free, it wasn’t worth watching. Others pointed out that releasing the film on YouTube for free after its failure in theatres was an insult. Some users went as far as saying that the film was the biggest disaster after the pandemic, even surpassing the flop movie Dhaakad.

One viewer sarcastically said, “Make a movie such that people don’t watch it even for free.” Another user wrote, “When it didn’t work in the theatre, they uploaded it on YouTube for free, it’s a great insult.” There were also comments suggesting that if the film had been uploaded on YouTube from the start, it might have saved some money.
Pressure on Singham Again
Amidst all this, Arjun Kapoor is pinning his hopes on his next big project, Singham Again, where he plays the villain. The movie, led by Ajay Devgan, also stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Tiger Shroff. Arjun’s look from the film has been well-received, and there are high expectations for this movie.
Given the string of flops in his career, Singham Again is crucial for Arjun Kapoor. If the film does well, it could be a turning point for him. However, if it doesn’t, it will add another failure to his name.
