A tall, young bowler, Josh Hull, is all set to make his debut for the England cricket team in the third and final Test against Sri Lanka at The Oval on Friday. The 20-year-old left-arm pacer, who stands 6 feet 7 inches tall, is excited to join the team as they aim to complete a series whitewash after already leading 2-0.

Hull Replaces Potts in Final Test

Josh Hull is replacing Matthew Potts in England’s lineup for this match. Potts played in the earlier games, but now Hull gets his chance. England made only this one change after their fantastic 190-run win in the second Test at Lord’s.

Mark Wood, who would have been a choice for this game, is out with a thigh injury, allowing Hull to step into the squad.

    Josh Hull’s Performance So Far

Josh Hull has shown promise in his domestic career. He has played in 10 first-class matches, taking 16 wickets. In 9 List A matches, he grabbed 17 wickets, and in 21 T20 matches, he claimed 24 wickets. His ability to bowl fast, with a speed reaching 85-90 mph, and his left-arm angle make him a tough challenge for any batsman.

Captain Ollie Pope’s Thoughts on Hull

Ollie Pope, England’s captain for this Test, has high hopes for Hull. “Hull is 6 feet 7 inches, bowls fast, and swings the ball with his left-arm angle. It’s going to be a great week for him. We are eager to see how he performs and takes this chance to show his talent,” Pope said. Hull is also part of England’s squad for the upcoming white-ball series against Australia, giving him more opportunities to shine.

England’s Lineup for the 3rd Test

Here is England’s playing XI for the 3rd Test against Sri Lanka:
Dan Lawrence, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope (captain), Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jamie Smith (wicketkeeper), Chris Woakes, Gus Atkinson, Olly Stone, Josh Hull, and Shoaib Bashir.
