Sintu Singh Sagar, the lead actor, revealed that the film showcases how casteism affects every level of society. According to Sagar, “Our film shows how the worm of casteism affects the lives of those from lower castes.” Through ‘Lachminiya’, the filmmakers aim to inspire viewers to stand against these social injustices and push for equality.
A Thought-Provoking Story Set in Bihar
Shot in the Lakhisarai district of Bihar, ‘Lachminiya’ is produced under the Filmeniya Film Factory and Natarang Entertainment banners. The film stars Tanushree Chatterjee and Sintu Singh Sagar in pivotal roles. It portrays how feudal systems take advantage of women from lower castes, exploiting and silencing them. “When someone protests, their voice is suppressed,” the director explained, highlighting the harsh reality many face.
