Harish Salve’s Explanation: Coordination Lacking
Harish Salve, speaking about the case, revealed that there was a major lack of coordination during the legal proceedings. According to Salve, the law firm representing the IOA received critical documents very late, which impacted their ability to build a strong case. The athlete’s legal team was not cooperating effectively, delaying the flow of important information.
Salve also noted that his team had fought hard to defend the case and even offered Vinesh an opportunity to challenge the CAS decision in a Swiss court, but she was not willing to pursue the matter further. Salve shared this detail during an interview, saying, “Despite our hard work, the athlete did not wish to continue the legal process.”

After announcing her retirement from wrestling, Vinesh Phogat made headlines once again by joining the Indian National Congress (INC). She is set to contest in the Haryana Assembly elections, representing the Julana constituency in Jind. Her decision to enter politics comes after a career filled with both highs and lows in wrestling.
