Former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Latif has made some strong remarks about the state of Pakistan cricket, describing it as being on “life support.” The ex-wicketkeeper is deeply concerned with the current performance of both the team and individual players, especially captain Babar Azam. His harsh comments reflect the ongoing struggles in Pakistan cricket, both on and off the field.

Pakistan Cricket’s Troubled Times: In the ICU

Latif didn’t mince words when talking about the state of cricket in Pakistan. According to him, Pakistan cricket is in the ICU, and without quick action, things could take a turn for the worse. He believes that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) needs to take urgent steps to revive the team’s performance, or the sport in the country could “die.”

Latif’s frustration stems from Pakistan’s poor results in recent matches. The former cricketer also criticized the PCB for its continuous changes and disruptions within the team, blaming it for the lack of stability. His comment about Pakistan cricket being on “its last legs” reflects the concern shared by many fans.

Babar Azam’s Mental Struggles After Losing Captaincy

Apart from criticizing the team’s performance, Latif also raised concerns about Babar Azam’s mental state. He said that Babar’s mind isn’t functioning properly after being forcefully removed from captaincy. According to Latif, Babar’s struggles stem from losing his leadership role, and this has affected his confidence and mindset. He went on to suggest that Babar has been unable to move past this issue, which is reflected in his recent performances on the field.

Latif believes that Babar needs to focus on his batting and leave the thoughts of captaincy behind. His statement was direct: “Babar should stop thinking about captaincy and focus on playing his game.” This could be the only way for him to regain his form and contribute more effectively to the team.

A Need for Stability in Pakistan Cricket

Latif’s criticism highlights the importance of stability in Pakistan cricket. The constant changes, both in leadership and team composition, have left the players and fans frustrated. While it’s clear that Pakistan cricket is struggling, many hope that the board will make the necessary corrections to bring back the glory days.

Rashid Latif’s words serve as a wake-up call, urging the PCB to act quickly before the situation worsens. Whether Babar Azam can regain his form and whether Pakistan cricket can recover from its current troubles remains to be seen.
