Travis Head seems to have a special connection with both the date of the 19th and teams in blue jerseys. Indian fans can still recall the heartbreak from November 19, 2023, when Australia defeated India in the ODI World Cup final. Fast forward to September 19, 2024, at Trent Bridge, and Head was back to his best. This time, his target was England, another team sporting blue jerseys, and once again, Head’s bat did the talking. His extraordinary knock of 158 runs off 129 balls left fans amazed and further strengthened his reputation as one of the most dangerous batsmen in world cricket.

Head’s love affair with the blue jersey has now become a topic of discussion among cricket fans. In the 2023 World Cup final, he led Australia to victory against India, hitting 137 off 120 balls. His innings included 15 boundaries and 4 towering sixes. Now, against England, he has done something similar, smashing 20 fours and 5 sixes to put up a sensational 158.

What’s remarkable is that Australia was under pressure in both matches, losing early wickets. However, Head remained calm and took control of the game, turning it in Australia’s favor. Against England, Australia was chasing a target of 316 runs, and thanks to Head’s fiery batting, they achieved the goal in just 44 overs. This chase is now ranked as Australia’s joint fourth-highest successful chase in ODI history.
