‘Aashiqui 3’ Finally Set to Return: Court Decision Paves the Way for Release

After a legal battle, the much-anticipated ‘Aashiqui 3’ is set to come soon as Special Films wins the rights. The release date remains a mystery but expectations are high.

The iconic ‘Aashiqui’ franchise is all set to return with its third part, ‘Aashiqui 3’. After a legal tussle between production houses T-Series and Special Films, fans can finally rejoice. The first ‘Aashiqui’ film, released in 1990, became a massive hit, with its emotional love story and melodious music resonating with audiences. The second film, ‘Aashiqui 2,’ released in 2013, also captured hearts with its storyline and unforgettable soundtrack.

However, the making of ‘Aashiqui 3’ hit a roadblock when a legal dispute arose between T-Series and Special Films over the rights to produce the third part of the franchise. This disagreement eventually reached the Delhi High Court, where the court ruled in favor of Special Films, allowing them to move forward with the project.

Special Films Secures Rights to ‘Aashiqui’ Title

The primary issue at hand was the use of the ‘Aashiqui’ name in the title of the film. T-Series, which co-produced the earlier films with Special Films, had announced plans for a new movie titled ‘Tu Hi Aashiqui’ or ‘Tu Hi Aashiqui Hai’. However, Special Films took the matter to court, asserting that they had exclusive rights to the ‘Aashiqui’ brand name.

The Delhi High Court ruled in favor of Special Films, stating that the name ‘Aashiqui’ could not be used in any film title except by them. This decision was a relief for Special Films, who had felt that the use of ‘Aashiqui’ by T-Series in another film could confuse fans of the original franchise.

No Long Wait for ‘Aashiqui 3’ Release

Although the exact release date of ‘Aashiqui 3’ is yet to be announced, Special Films has assured fans that the movie will not take as long to release as it did between ‘Aashiqui’ and ‘Aashiqui 2’. Vishesh Bhatt, Managing Director of Special Films, hinted that the production house is focused on delivering a film with a compelling story and exceptional music, much like the earlier movies in the series.

Bhatt shared that the creative team is working hard to ensure that ‘Aashiqui 3’ will live up to the expectations of fans, who have eagerly awaited its release for years. While no specific details have been revealed about the cast or the music, fans can expect the signature emotional depth and soulful tunes that have defined the franchise.

    T-Series Defends Itself in Court

During the court proceedings, T-Series argued that Special Films had not raised any objections when the film ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ was released in 2021, which featured ‘Aashiqui’ in its title. This, T-Series claimed, suggested that Special Films had given up its rights to the ‘Aashiqui’ name. However, the court dismissed this argument and ruled in favor of Special Films, affirming their ownership of the franchise title.

With the legal obstacles now cleared, the path is open for ‘Aashiqui 3’ to begin production. Fans are eagerly waiting for the official announcement of the cast, music, and release date of the movie.
