Farooq Ahmed clarified that the board cannot guarantee Shakib’s security. “The government is responsible for providing security, not us. We are not a security agency, nor do we have the capacity to handle these matters. It’s up to the government to decide on Shakib’s security,” Ahmed explained during the press conference. This statement has raised serious doubts about Shakib’s future in Bangladesh cricket.
Could Kanpur Test Be Shakib’s Last Match?
If adequate security cannot be arranged for Shakib in Bangladesh, the Kanpur Test could very well be his final match in the format.
