The highly anticipated ‘Devara’ starring Junior NTR, Saif Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor has recently undergone some key changes after receiving feedback from the Censor Board. The film, which is directed by Koratala Siva, is now set to be 2 hours, 58 minutes, and 3 seconds long after the required edits. Fans are eagerly awaiting the release, which is scheduled for September 27, and it promises to be a thrilling experience. But what exactly did the Censor Board ask the filmmakers to change?

    Censor Board’s Changes to ‘Devara’

The Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) made three significant cuts to the film before granting it a U/A certificate. The changes focus mainly on violent scenes, ensuring that they align with the certification standards. Here’s a breakdown of what was altered:

    1. Scene of Domestic Violence: One of the scenes in the film depicted a character kicking his wife. The CBFC has asked the filmmakers to modify this scene to reduce its impact.
    2. Violence Against a Mother: In another sequence, a character kicks his mother. This has also been flagged for modification to tone down the violence.
    3. Graphic Scene with a Sword: A third scene involving a man hanging on a sword and sliding down the weapon was deemed too graphic. This five-second shot has been completely removed from the final cut.

    Shark Scene Requires CGI Disclaimer

Additionally, a scene from the film’s trailer, where Junior NTR is seen emerging from the water while sitting on a shark, caught the attention of the Censor Board. Since this sequence was created using CGI (Computer Generated Imagery), the board has asked the filmmakers to add a disclaimer stating that the shark is digitally created. This is a common practice in movies to avoid any misconceptions about animal cruelty.

    High Expectations from ‘Devara’

The buzz around ‘Devara’ has been immense ever since the release of its action-packed trailer, which showcased Junior NTR and Saif Ali Khan in fierce avatars. The trailer, lasting 2 minutes and 39 seconds, has already garnered millions of views and fans are particularly excited to see the powerful performances from the ensemble cast. The trailer hints at intense action scenes, especially between Saif Ali Khan and Junior NTR, who are expected to be seen in gripping fight sequences.

    Janhvi Kapoor’s Telugu Debut

Janhvi Kapoor, who has already made a name for herself in Bollywood, is making her Telugu film debut with ‘Devara’. This is her third release this year, and fans are curious to see how she performs in this new genre. While her previous films, ‘Mr. and Mrs. Mahi’ and ‘Uljh’, received mixed reviews, her role in ‘Devara’ is expected to be a game-changer for her. The film marks a fresh chapter in her career, and her collaboration with Junior NTR is already creating excitement.

Saif Ali Khan Impresses as the Villain

Saif Ali Khan, who is also making his debut in Telugu cinema, has impressed fans with his anti-hero role. Known for his versatility, Saif’s portrayal of the villain in ‘Devara’ has already generated a lot of positive feedback from the audience. His powerful presence in the trailer has built anticipation for what’s to come.

    Pan-India Appeal of ‘Devara’

‘Devara’ is not just a Telugu film; it is a pan-India release, hitting theatres in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. The scale of the movie, combined with its star-studded cast, ensures that it will attract a diverse audience across India. With big names like Junior NTR, Saif Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor, the film is set to create a lasting impact at the box office.

    High-Octane Action with a Message

While the film’s trailer showcases intense action and violence, the Censor Board’s edits aim to ensure that the movie can be enjoyed by a broader audience. The filmmakers have complied with the changes, ensuring that ‘Devara’ will still retain its high-octane energy while making it suitable for a wider viewership.

As fans eagerly await the release of ‘Devara’, the final edits are now complete, and the film is ready for its grand September 27 release. With the hype surrounding the movie and the powerful performances of its leading stars, ‘Devara’ is all set to make waves at the box office.
