With just three days left before the release of Jr NTR’s much-awaited action-drama Devara Part-1, the film is already breaking records with its advance bookings. Starring Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan, the movie is slated for release on 27th September 2024. Advance booking figures show a tremendous response, with a 47% surge in the last 24 hours alone. Given the enthusiasm from fans, the film is poised to become the biggest solo opener of Jr NTR’s career.
This marks Jr NTR’s return to the silver screen after the globally successful RRR, which was released in 2022. Devara is his first solo lead project in six years, since Aravinda Sametha (2018). His previous best was Aravinda Sametha, which grossed ₹58 crores worldwide on its opening day in 2018. Devara is expected to surpass this, cementing Jr NTR’s growing box-office dominance.
Can Devara Touch ₹100 Crore on Opening Day?
Trade experts are predicting huge numbers for Devara on its release day. In foreign markets, the film is expected to gross $5 million (approximately ₹42 crore) on its first day. In India, Devara is anticipated to rake in over ₹50 crore across multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. If these estimates hold true, Devara could easily cross the ₹100 crore mark worldwide on its opening day, placing Jr NTR alongside Prabhas as one of the few Telugu actors whose films achieved this feat on Day 1.
