Shah Rukh Khan, often called the King of Bollywood, has become the highest tax-paying actor in the country this year. He has paid a whopping ₹92 crore in taxes for 2023-24, showing his immense earnings from films, endorsements, and business ventures. With hit films and global popularity, Shah Rukh Khan has once again proven his dominance, not just in acting but also in his financial contributions.
Following him is Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay, who has paid ₹80 crore in taxes. Salman Khan also finds a place among the top tax-paying actors. These stars continue to lead the industry in terms of both popularity and earnings.
Kareena Kapoor Khan: Highest Tax-Paying Actress in India
On the list of actresses, Kareena Kapoor Khan has claimed the top spot by paying ₹20 crore in taxes. Kareena has outshined other big names like Deepika Padukone and Shraddha Kapoor to become the highest tax-paying female celebrity in India for 2024.
Her last film, Crew, was a big hit and is currently available on Netflix. Directed by Rajesh A Krishnan, Kareena shared the screen with Kriti Sanon and Tabu in this successful project. Her next big movie, Singham Again, is set to release on Diwali 2024. The film, directed by Rohit Shetty, will feature an ensemble cast including Ajay Devgan, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, and Ranveer Singh.
Other Actresses on the List
Following Kareena, Kiara Advani comes second, having paid ₹12 crore in taxes. Katrina Kaif is in third place, contributing ₹11 crore. These actresses have not only made a mark in the film industry but also in their financial contributions to the country. Interestingly, this year, no other Indian actresses made it to the top tax-paying list apart from Kareena, Kiara, and Katrina.
