In a significant achievement for the new generation of musicians in Kota, 24-year-old Muhit Bharti has earned a prestigious nomination for the Grammy Awards with his album Shuruaat. This recognition has sparked excitement among his fans, who are eagerly hoping for his success on the global stage.
Muhit hails from a family deeply rooted in the classical music tradition of the Senia Gharana, representing its 18th generation. His mother, Dr. Shalini Bharti, a lecturer in painting, shared that Muhit’s musical journey began under the tutelage of his father, Prof. Dr. Roshan Bharti, a Ghazal singer and Principal at a government college. Muhit’s passion for music led him to graduate from the esteemed Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA. Currently, he operates a music studio in Mumbai, where he continues to create and innovate in the world of music.
The Grammy Awards, established in 1959, are among the highest honors in the music industry, recognizing exceptional musical talent worldwide. Over the years, several Indian artists, including tabla maestro Zakir Hussain, flautist Rakesh Chaurasia, and singer Shankar Mahadevan, have received this prestigious award.
