According to reports, on the day of the incident, Mehta was sitting in the balcony, reading a newspaper. His wife, Joyce Polycorp, noticed his slippers in the living room but could not find him in the balcony. She then saw him lying on the ground outside, with the building’s watchman calling for help.
It has been said that Anil Mehta had been dealing with knee pain for some time but was otherwise in good health. His death has left the family shocked and heartbroken. Police reports have also confirmed that he had no other serious illnesses, making the incident even more sudden and unexpected.
