Munawar Faruqui, known for his candid commentary on social and political issues, has once again captured public attention with a powerful poem addressing the recent Kolkata rape case. The poem, shared in a 12-second video on Instagram, is a stark reflection of the harsh realities faced by women in India. Through his poignant words, Faruqui links the societal reverence for women as goddesses to the brutal violence they often endure.

    Munawar Faruqui’s Emotional Post

Munawar Faruqui, who gained fame through his participation in “Bigg Boss,” has consistently used his platform to voice his opinions on various incidents happening around the world. In response to the horrifying Kolkata rape case, Faruqui shared an emotional post on Instagram, delivering a powerful message that forces society to reflect deeply.

In his caption, Faruqui wrote, “Congratulations, you have a daughter. What we see on social media is reported; think about what isn’t reported. After achieving so much in technology, where do we stand? If politicians weren’t busy fighting each other or in the name of religion, perhaps this situation wouldn’t persist even after 78 years of independence.”

The Poem That Shakes the Soul

In the short video, Faruqui delivers a haunting poem that highlights the struggles faced by women in a society that is quick to worship them as goddesses but fails to protect their dignity. The poem is a heartbreaking commentary on the hypocrisy and contradictions present in societal attitudes toward women.

Faruqui recites, “She has been going through exams, guests with evil eyes, she has been jealous of the world, today again she has come home scared of the shops. Some say she is Laxmi, some say she is a blessing, some call her a burden and some say congratulations, you have a daughter. It was late at night, she was wearing such clothes, she had gone out alone, what kind of logic is this. She is an animal, age, time, clothes, what difference does it make for her. The one who used to sit on the eyelids of her parents, is lying somewhere in the blood. Congratulations, you have a daughter. Happy Independence Day.”

    Social Hypocrisy Exposed

Faruqui’s poem exposes the deep-rooted hypocrisy in society, where women are revered as symbols of prosperity, like Goddess Lakshmi, yet are subjected to violence and discrimination. His words question how society can simultaneously worship and oppress women, allowing such brutality to continue unchecked.

The poem also critiques the flawed logic often used to blame victims, highlighting how factors like age, time, and clothing are irrelevant when it comes to the mindset of perpetrators. Faruqui’s words challenge society to confront the real issues that lead to such heinous acts.

    Public Reaction

Munawar Faruqui’s post has sparked a strong reaction from the public. Many fans and followers have taken to social media to express their support for his message. The poem serves not only as a lament for the tragic incident but also as a call to action, urging society to address the underlying issues that allow such violence to persist.

The public’s response to Faruqui’s poem underscores the growing frustration with the ongoing violence against women in India. It is a reminder that words can be powerful tools for change, and that society must do more than just mourn the victims – it must actively work towards preventing such tragedies from occurring in the future.
