5 Indian Players Who Might Miss Out on the Playing XI in the First Test Against Bangladesh

The Indian cricket team has been announced for the first Test match against Bangladesh, with Rohit Sharma leading the 16-member squad. While the team looks strong, only 11 players will make it to the playing XI, leaving some talented players on the bench. Here’s a look at five players who might find it tough to secure a spot in the starting lineup for the first Test and could be seen carrying drinks.

    1. Axar Patel

Axar Patel’s all-round abilities with both bat and ball have been impressive, but his chances depend heavily on Ravindra Jadeja’s availability. Jadeja’s experience and form make him a preferred choice, pushing Axar to the bench despite his strong performances. With Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav likely to partner Jadeja in the spin department, Axar might have to wait for his chance.

    2. Yash Dayal

Yash Dayal has been included in the squad, but the team’s combination often limits the playing XI to just two pacers in home conditions. With Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj expected to lead the pace attack, Yash might have to wait on the sidelines alongside Akash Deep. The team management prefers to back the experienced duo, making it tough for Dayal to break into the playing XI.

    3. Akash Deep

After making an impressive debut in the Ranchi Test against England, Akash Deep finds himself in a tight spot with the return of Jasprit Bumrah. Akash’s three-wicket haul in his debut match showcased his potential, but with Bumrah back in the mix, he is likely to sit out in the first match against Bangladesh.

    4. Dhruv Jurel

Dhruv Jurel, who made headlines with his brilliant wicket-keeping and batting against England, faces stiff competition from the returning Rishabh Pant. Pant, widely regarded as one of the best wicket-keeper batsmen in Test cricket, is expected to be the first choice behind the stumps. This means Jurel will likely have to make way for Pant in the playing XI.

    5. Sarfaraz Khan

Sarfaraz Khan has been retained in the squad due to his excellent record against spin and consistent performances in domestic cricket. However, the batting lineup looks set with KL Rahul expected to bat at number five, making it difficult for Sarfaraz to find a place in the team. Despite his impressive form, he may have to wait for his opportunity.

These players, though talented, might have to spend the first Test on the bench as the team management balances experience and form. As the series progresses, they could get their chance to shine, but for now, they might find themselves cheering from the sidelines.
