Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja has been named the new Jam Saheb of Jamnagar, Gujarat, a title that has dramatically changed his financial status. This royal inheritance makes him one of the wealthiest sportspersons in the country, surpassing even Virat Kohli in terms of net worth. Jadeja’s wealth has now reached a staggering Rs 1450 crore, while Kohli’s is estimated at around Rs 1000 crore.

Before taking over the royal title, Jadeja’s net worth stood at Rs 250 crore, including income from coaching, commentary, and ancestral properties. However, with his appointment as Jam Saheb, his financial status skyrocketed overnight.

    Royal Announcement During Dussehra Festivities

The announcement of Jadeja’s new role was made by the previous Jam Saheb, Shatrushalysinghji Jadeja, via a press release. He expressed confidence in Jadeja, saying, “On this auspicious occasion of Dussehra, I have resolved all my dilemmas and chosen Ajay Jadeja as the next Jam Saheb. I hope he will serve the people of Jamnagar well.”

A Look at Ajay Jadeja’s Cricket Career

Ajay Jadeja played a vital role in India’s cricket team during the 1990s, featuring in 15 Test matches and 196 ODIs. In his ODI career, he amassed 5359 runs, including 6 centuries and 30 half-centuries. Although his cricketing journey was cut short after being named in a match-fixing scandal, Jadeja later returned to the sport as a commentator and coach, staying connected with cricket.

Now, with his newfound royal responsibilities, Jadeja embarks on a new chapter in life, becoming not just a sports icon but also a royal leader in Jamnagar.
