As the much-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy approaches, Australian spinner Nathan Lyon has admitted that the Indian team lineup is causing concern for him and his teammates. The five-Test series, which starts on November 22 in Australia, is part of the World Test Championship, and Lyon is aware of the tough challenge ahead.

In a recent interview with Star Sports, Lyon shared his thoughts on India’s key players. He mentioned that the performances of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Rishabh Pant are going to be crucial in the series. “Rohit, Virat, and Pant are massive players for India, but there are others like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Ravindra Jadeja who can make a big difference too,” Lyon said.

    Indian Batting Lineup Worrying Australia

Lyon also pointed out the depth of the Indian team, suggesting that their batting lineup is one of the strongest Australia will face. He expressed concern over how tough it will be for the Australian bowlers to contain the Indian batsmen, saying, “India’s lineup is really strong. If we don’t bowl well as a unit, it will be hard to break their defense.”

    Australia’s Struggles Against India

Australia has been unable to win a Border-Gavaskar series since their last home victory in 2014-15. Since then, India has dominated, winning the trophy on four consecutive occasions—twice in India and twice in Australia. India’s success down under also made them the first Asian team to win a Test series in Australia.

As the Border-Gavaskar Trophy nears, all eyes will be on how Australia plans to handle India’s top players, with Nathan Lyon acknowledging that it will be a significant challenge for the hosts.
