Musheer Khan, a talented young cricketer, has made headlines with his outstanding performance in the 2024 Duleep Trophy. In his debut match, Musheer showcased his batting skills by smashing 181 runs. His knock included 16 fours and 5 sixes, and he faced 373 balls in this marathon innings.

Playing against India A, led by Shubman Gill, Musheer Khan stood strong at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, even when other batsmen struggled. While star players like Sarfaraz Khan and Yashasvi Jaiswal couldn’t stay long at the crease, Musheer held his ground, showing maturity beyond his years. He shared a crucial partnership with Navdeep Saini, which helped his team put up a good fight.

Musheer’s brilliant 181-run knock made him the fourth-highest scorer in a Duleep Trophy debut match. He broke the legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s 33-year-old record. Tendulkar had scored 159 runs in his debut for West Zone against East Zone in 1991.

Here’s a look at the highest individual scores in Duleep Trophy debuts:

    • Baba Aparajith: 212 runs
    • Vinod Kambli: 208 runs
    • Yash Dhull: 193 runs
    • Musheer Khan: 181 runs
    • Ajinkya Rahane: 172 runs
    • Sachin Tendulkar: 159 runs

Musheer’s brilliant start to his Duleep Trophy journey has cricket fans and experts excited. He has shown that he is a player to watch in the future, with his ability to perform under pressure and face international-level bowlers with ease. If he continues this form, Musheer is sure to have a bright future in Indian cricket.
