In a shocking turn of events, Bangladesh secured their first-ever Test series win against Pakistan on their home turf, leaving the cricketing world stunned. Pakistan, who were expected to dominate, suffered a humiliating defeat, leading to widespread criticism. The two-match Test series, played in Rawalpindi, saw Pakistan crumble as Bangladesh swept the series with a 2-0 victory.

    Bangladesh’s Historic Victory

The first Test saw Bangladesh thrash Pakistan by 10 wickets, marking their first Test win over the hosts. The second Test followed a similar pattern, with Bangladesh overcoming a disastrous start of 26/6 in their first innings to eventually win by 6 wickets. This whitewash was a historic moment for Bangladesh cricket and a moment of pride for their fans.

    Pakistan’s Struggles at Home

Pakistan’s poor performance at home has raised concerns, as they haven’t won a single Test match at home in their last 10 games. Their last home victory was against South Africa in February 2021, and since then, they’ve suffered 6 defeats with 4 drawn games. This latest loss has added to the frustration of Pakistani cricket fans, who are growing increasingly disappointed with the team’s current form.

    Ashwin’s Reaction

Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin expressed his thoughts on the shocking series result. On his YouTube channel, Ashwin praised Bangladesh for their impressive victory but expressed his disappointment for Pakistan. He said, “Pakistan is not an easy team to beat, and it’s very sad to see them go through such a rough phase.” Ashwin also touched on Pakistan’s rich cricketing history, mentioning legendary players like Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram, and Imran Khan. He lamented that such a legacy is now being overshadowed by their recent poor performances.
