The first day of Duleep Trophy 2024 has been all about the bowlers. India A’s bowlers are dominating India B, while India C is making things difficult for India D. The pitches in Anantapur and Bengaluru are helping the fast bowlers, making it hard for batsmen to score runs.

One of the big moments of the day came when Rishabh Pant, playing for India B, lost his wicket to a stunning catch by Shubman Gill.

    Gill’s Amazing Fielding

Shubman Gill, the captain of India A, pulled off an incredible catch to dismiss Rishabh Pant. Pant tried to hit Akash Deep’s ball to the leg side but didn’t time it well. The ball flew towards mid-off, where Gill was fielding. Gill ran back and dived to grab the ball in the air. This kind of catch is one of the toughest in cricket, and Gill’s effort was truly remarkable.

Pant’s Struggles in His First Match After Injury

Rishabh Pant, the wicketkeeper-batsman of the Indian team, is playing his first first-class match after recovering from a car accident. Pant started his innings with a boundary off a full toss but struggled after that. He tried to play an aggressive shot but got out after scoring just 7 runs from 10 balls.

There are high hopes for Pant to return to the Indian team for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh, but this innings wasn’t his best.

    India B’s Middle Order Collapse

India B’s batting order didn’t perform well. After losing their second wicket at 53, they lost 5 more wickets quickly, scoring only 31 more runs. Sarfaraz Khan was dismissed for 9 runs, and after Pant’s wicket, Nitish Reddy was out for a golden duck. Washington Sundar also failed to score, leaving India B in deep trouble
