Shrinet further attacked Kangana, calling her a “Godse devotee” and questioned if Prime Minister Narendra Modi would endorse this new form of Gandhi-bashing from a BJP MP.
Demand for Legal Action
Adding fuel to the fire, Congress leader Raj Kumar Verma demanded a case of treason be filed against the actress for her remarks. He accused Kangana of trying to create a divide between the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, calling her comments provocative and harmful to the nation’s history.
BJP Leader Responds
Not just the opposition, but even members from Kangana’s own party distanced themselves from her statements. Manoranjan Kalia, a senior BJP leader from Punjab, criticized the actress, stating that her comments were inappropriate and disrespectful to Gandhi’s legacy.

On the professional front, Kangana is preparing for the release of her much-anticipated film Emergency, where she portrays the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
