In a heartfelt interview, Bollywood actress Vijayta Pandit, known for her roles in the 90s, has shared the tragic details surrounding her sister Sandhya Pandit’s mysterious disappearance and death. Sandhya went missing in 2012, and a month later, her skeleton was found, leaving the family devastated. Vijayta, along with her two other sisters, Sulakshana and Sandhya, belonged to a famous family, with Jatin-Lalit as their well-known music composer brothers.
“We Only Found a Skeleton”: Vijayta Remembers the Pain
In an emotional conversation with Laharen Retro, Vijayta recalled the shocking discovery of Sandhya’s remains. “She was murdered. We never imagined something like this would happen. She was very happy in her marriage,” Vijayta shared. The family initially thought Sandhya was missing and searched everywhere for her, but eventually, they were only able to find scattered bones, which shook the family to its core.

Vijayta added, “At first, we thought she was just missing. Jatin and I would look for her. After some time, we found her bones scattered across different places. This was a huge blow for us.”
Sulakshana Pandit Still Unaware of Sandhya’s Death
One of the most heart-wrenching revelations Vijayta made was about her other sister, Sulakshana Pandit. Despite the years that have passed since Sandhya’s tragic death, Sulakshana is still unaware of the reality and believes her sister is alive. Vijayta explained that they have kept the truth from Sulakshana, fearing the impact it could have on her mental health.

“You won’t believe it, but Sulakshana ji still doesn’t know that our sister is no longer with us,” Vijayta revealed. “I have never told her because I am sure that if she finds out, she will not be able to bear it. I keep telling her that Sandhya is fine, living in Indore, and she calls me regularly.”
The family has kept up this painful charade for years to protect Sulakshana, who still asks Vijayta to send love to Sandhya, completely unaware of the terrible truth.
