In a stunning display of power hitting, New Zealand cricketer Chad Bose created history by scoring the fastest double century in the world. Bose, playing for Canterbury in the Ford Trophy, hit 205 runs off just 110 balls in a match against Otago. He achieved his double century in just 103 balls, breaking the previous world record held by Indian batsman N Jagadeesan and Australian Travis Head, both of whom took 114 balls to reach the milestone.

    Bose’s Record-Breaking Innings: 150 Runs From Boundaries

Chad Bose didn’t just break records, he shattered them with an unbelievable strike rate. He scored 150 out of his 205 runs purely through boundaries, hammering 27 fours and 7 sixes. His aggressive batting started right from the opening, as he reached his half-century in just 26 balls.

Continuing his rampage, Bose brought up his century in just 53 balls and crossed 150 in the next 24 deliveries. By the 103rd ball, he had reached his double century, leaving everyone in awe of his performance.

    Canterbury’s Massive Victory

Thanks to Bose’s brilliant innings, Canterbury posted a challenging total of 343 runs in 50 overs. The Otago team, however, crumbled under the pressure, getting bowled out for just 103 runs. Canterbury won by a massive margin of 240 runs and topped the points table after winning both their matches.

    Chad Bose: A Rising Star

What makes Chad Bose’s achievement even more special is his journey. Originally from South Africa, Bose was the captain of the South African Under-19 team in 2012. However, he later moved to New Zealand and made his ODI debut for the Blackcaps against Sri Lanka in 2023. Despite a modest start to his international career, scoring just 93 runs in 6 matches, Bose’s recent performance will surely catch the eye of the New Zealand selectors.

Cricket fans and experts are now eagerly waiting to see if this remarkable knock will open the door for Bose’s return to the international stage.
