Pranav Sharma, a para-athlete from Faridabad, Haryana, has become an inspiration to millions. He won a silver medal for India in the men’s club throw F51 event at the Paris Paralympics, contributing to India’s best performance ever in the Paralympics with a total of 24 medals. But behind this success is an extraordinary story of determination, hard work, and resilience.

Pranav’s life took a drastic turn when he was just 16 years old. A terrible accident left him with a severe spinal cord injury, and he lost the ability to walk. Since then, Pranav has been using a wheelchair, but that didn’t stop him from chasing his dreams. Instead of losing hope, he fought back and continued to live a normal life, despite the challenges.

Wheelchair for 14 Years, but Never Gave Up

Born in 1994, Pranav’s life changed forever when he met with an accident that damaged his spinal cord. This forced him to rely on a wheelchair for his mobility. Even though the injury was life-changing, Pranav decided to focus on the positive side of life. He completed his education, never letting his physical condition limit his ambitions.

Academic Success and Career in Banking

Pranav’s determination to succeed didn’t stop with overcoming his injury. He completed his B.Com from Delhi University and later earned an M.Com from Delhi School of Economics. In 2020, he joined Bank of Baroda as an Assistant Manager, showing that he could excel not only in sports but also in his professional life.

    Mr. India Title Holder

Apart from his achievements in academics and sports, Pranav also earned the title of Mr. India, showing that he’s not just an athlete or a professional, but a person with diverse talents. His Instagram reflects his journey and the various milestones he has crossed over the years.

The Turning Point: Sports Changed His Life

Although Pranav dabbled in sports like cricket, football, and basketball during his college days, he didn’t consider a career in sports until 2018, when he discovered para sports. It was the club throw event that brought new energy into his life. According to Pranav, his life had become dull, but the moment he started practicing at the stadium, he felt alive again.

Pranav’s dedication and passion for the sport not only changed his life but also made him an inspiration for others. His father, too, played a big role in his journey, leaving his job to support Pranav as he pursued his dreams in para sports.

Pranav Sharma’s success story is a shining example of how one can rise above life’s challenges and achieve greatness through hard work and determination. His silver medal at the Paris Paralympics is just the beginning of what is sure to be a long and inspiring career in para sports.
