Hyderabad: India shattered records in the third T20 match against Bangladesh, posting a massive 297/6 in 20 overs, making it the highest total by a Test-playing nation. Opener Sanju Samson’s explosive century (111 off 47 balls), along with aggressive knocks from Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya, ensured India cruised past the previous record of 278/3 set by Afghanistan.

Samson and Surya’s Partnership Lights Up the Stadium

India opted to bat first after winning the toss but faced an early setback as Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for 4 runs. However, Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav stabilized the innings with a sensational 173-run stand in just 70 balls. Samson was at his destructive best, slamming 11 fours and 8 sixes, and reaching his century in just 40 balls.

In the 10th over, Samson unleashed his power, hitting five sixes off Rishad Hussain’s deliveries, taking India past 150 at the halfway mark. Surya complemented him with 75 off 35 balls, featuring 8 boundaries and 5 sixes, keeping the pressure on Bangladesh’s bowlers throughout.

Supporting Knocks Add to India’s Mammoth Total

After Samson’s dismissal, the aggressive batting continued. Riyan Parag smashed 34 off 13 balls with 4 sixes, and Hardik Pandya hammered 47 in just 18 balls, hitting 4 sixes and 4 fours. Even Rinku Singh chipped in with an unbeaten 8 off 4 balls, finishing the innings with a six on the last ball to take India’s score to 297/6.

New Records Set by India’s Batting Onslaught

India’s 297/6 is now the second-highest T20 international total, only behind Nepal’s 314/3 against Mongolia. Samson and Surya’s 173-run partnership also became the fourth-highest second-wicket stand in T20 internationals.
